Attorney Profile
Being the last of three children of immigrant parents, Alisha Mohammed was always struck by the immigrant experience. She came to the United States at the age of 16 to attend Queens College, New York, and began attending CUNY School of Law at 20. She focused on immigration law early on as she identified most strongly with it. Ms. Mohammed realized the life-changing impact moving to the United States could have, not just on the individual, but on the entire family of the immigrant.
Ms. Mohammed worked for the Human Rights, Education and Law Project Inc., an immigration legal service provider and advocacy organization, as the Acting Executive Director and Staff Attorney. HELP represented the immigration detainees caught up in the Special Registration Program, and among other things, provided community training on the Bill of Rights to minority and immigrant groups.
Following this, Ms. Mohammed wanted to start a law firm that provided strong advocacy and hands-on representation to clients especially immigrant clients who unwittingly found themselves at the end of increased scrutiny and some public animus. In the current anti-immigrant climate, our firm works to provide excellent legal representation based on our deep understanding and years of experience in this area, with accessibility and affordability. Our firm provides payment plans for clients who qualify, and we are available to our clients every step of the way.
